Background: Micheline is an orphan who lost both parents due to HIV/AIDS. She has been badly affected by the lost of her parents and she lives with her aunt who is also very poor and unable to sponsor her education because of extreme poverty (she lives on less than $1 USD per day). Mecheline’s only hope in life is to get education and escape the suffering she is currently under. She weeps bitterly when she narrated to us (BAPESU) her painful life and her dream to get education just like other young girls in other parts of the world especially in the North (USA, EUROPE, Australia and Japan).
